We are really looking forward to catering in the bright British sunshine again! That is if we are lucky enough to get some. If feels like it’s been a long winter here at Hog Roast Woodchurch with the weather being so cold but we have been as busy as we are in summer. We have bookings right through to the summer months, we have a fair few weddings and lots of outdoor corporate events along with the birthdays and christenings, which are popular too.
Last weekend we catered outdoors and it was bitterly cold but we shielded under our reinforced gazebo and once the machines were cooking we soon forgot how cold we were. Catering with a Hog Roast Woodchurch for a music event in the middle of a field! Our job is so interesting as we never know where we will end up and we were wearing wellington boots as we catered, as the field was so muddy. We were cooking pork and had a lovely big pig onto cook upon arrival and the smell was just breath taking. We made some pots of applesauce and we take pride in this as we have mastered the perfect sauce and it is very popular whenever we serve pork.
We also made some diced spiced potatoes and some vegetable skewers and of course pots of our famous salads and coleslaw. We had also baked some mini pasties a great little finger food in an assortment of flavours cheese, spicy and corned beef and perfect to eat at an event such as this. We set out all the plates and napkins and at the interval we had lots of people charging towards us! They said the smell of the Hog Roast Woodchurch had made them all so hungry. They didn’t have long to wait as our chef was carving the meat and handing it out still warm and the feedback we were getting was incredible. We left a pile of menu cards showing who we are and what we do and they were soon all gone so we brought out more! It wasn’t long and all were fed and we left feeling happy as another job well done.
