Lewis Carroll’s timeless masterpiece, Alice in Wonderland, may be almost 160 years old, but its enchanting allure continues to captivate book lovers of all ages. For Leanne, whose love for this classic tale has endured since childhood, there was no better theme for her 30th birthday celebration. Embracing the whimsy of Wonderland, Leanne decided to transport her guests to the realm of the ‘Queen of Hearts’ for a truly extraordinary birthday bash.
Once the venue was secured, Leanne set out to find a catering service in Wirral that could elevate her fantastical celebration. That’s when she stumbled upon Hog Roast Pensby, and we were thrilled to be a part of making Leanne’s birthday dreams come true.
On Saturday night, Hog Roast Pensby arrived at the venue hours in advance, ready to weave culinary enchantment into the ‘Queen of Hearts’ inspired decor. The venue had been transformed with a palette of red and black, accentuated by white roses splattered with red, chequered tablecloths, and scattered hearts playing cards – a visual ode to Wonderland. The main table, a throne fit for a birthday queen, took centre stage in the regal setting.
Hog Roast Pensby proudly presented the Hog Roast Dining Experience Menu, a mouth-watering masterpiece designed to match the extravagance of the Wonderland theme. The canapé selection featured mini fish and chips, pan-seared fillet of beef, smoked Scottish salmon, chicken satay skewers, and mini quiche, setting the tone for a splendid evening. For the main course, guests were treated to a choice of whole-roasted free-range chicken with chipolata sausages, BBQ handmade beef burgers, and grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers with tzatziki dip. Sides of coleslaw, salads, and dauphinoise potatoes added layers of flavour, while the grand finale featured cheesecake and chocolate torte.
Guests fully embraced the whimsical theme by dressing as characters from Wonderland and revelling in the magical atmosphere that Leanne had worked hard to create. Leanne, the birthday queen herself, was overjoyed with the outcome, unable to imagine a more perfect celebration. As the night concluded, it was evident that Hog Roast Pensby had added a dash of culinary magic to this enchanting celebration, and the client thanked us profusely for all of our help throughout.
